چکیده

Erwinia amylovora, the causal agent of fire blight, was first reported in Kyrgyz orchards 2008 and, within a few years, disease has spread throughout most northern part country. As blight expanded and penetrated new areas, it also reached unique ecosystem constituted by Arslonbob wild walnut–fruit forests South Kyrgyzstan. Here, we present results field surveys nearby gardens Jalal-Abad region during 2019 season. Further, use genetic profiling CRISPR regions to compare genotypes obtained isolates those previous outbreaks north country Kazakhstan. While found twelve twenty-six sites investigated around forest, mostly located on domesticated varieties quince, apple or pear gardens, nurseries. Plants forest especially endangered species were not affected disease, but their proximity current infection herds is cause major concern calls for immediate protective action. Genetic analysis suggests that main introduction route Central Asia import contaminated plant material from already countries Eurasian continent, which probably occurred multiple independent instances. Nonetheless, indications natural identified between Kazakhstan North

Bacteriophages of Erwinia amylovora.

Fifty bacteriophage isolates of Erwinia amylovora, the causal agent of fire blight, were collected from sites in and around the Niagara region of southern Ontario and the Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton, Ontario. Forty-two phages survived the isolation, purification, and storage processes. The majority of the phages in the collection were isolated from the soil surrounding trees exhibiting fi...

Structural Characterization of Core Region in Erwinia amylovora Lipopolysaccharide

Erwinia amylovora (E. amylovora) is the first bacterial plant pathogen described and demonstrated to cause fire blight, a devastating plant disease affecting a wide range of species including a wide variety of Rosaceae. In this study, we reported the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) core structure from E. amylovora strain CFBP1430, the first one for an E. amylovora highly pathogenic strain. The chemica...

Isolation and characterization of five Erwinia amylovora bacteriophages and assessment of phage resistance in strains of Erwinia amylovora.

Phages able to infect the fire blight pathogen Erwinia amylovora were isolated from apple, pear, and raspberry tissues and from soil samples collected at sites displaying fire blight symptoms. Among a collection of 50 phage isolates, 5 distinct phages, including relatives of the previously described phages phiEa1 and phiEa7 and 3 novel phages named phiEa100, phiEa125, and phiEa116C, were identi...
